Great! You got a free eBook as a PDF (or any PDF that you want to keep).
But every time you close your phone, you lose the PDF. Next time you want to read it, you have to search for the link, download it again, and you risk losing the book when the link expires.
Your worries end here. I'm going to show you how to save a PDF to your Kindle library through the Kindle app so it's where you need, when you need it. You can then sync your reading with your Kindle device or your Kindle web library.
If you don't already have it, go to your app store and download the free Kindle app for your phone or tablet.
Now we're going to open your PDF. In this example, the PDF is a digital ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) of picture book Mermaids Don't Fart.
1) Open the PDF eBook, then view the menu with these three dots.
This screenshot is from an iPhone, so your menu may look different, but when you tap "menu", you should get a list of choices like below:
2) When the menu comes up, choose "Open in".
You should see all of your apps that can open a PDF. We're going to open the PDF in the Kindle app:
3) Choose "Kindle" to open in the Kindle app. If you have a lot of apps, you may have to scroll right to find Kindle.
This screen will come up:
4) Tic "Add to your library", then tap "Send" to send the PDF to the Kindle App.
It may take a few seconds to load your PDF to the Kindle Library. When the PDF is loaded, you'll find yourself on the Library screen of the Kindle app.
5) At first you'll see a generic PDF cover with the title of your file, but . . .
6) . . . after opening the PDF, it will show the true cover in your menu!
That's all there is to it! Now you can open your PDF eBook and read it on your Kindle anytime!
PDFs are easy to read on almost any device. You don't need any special device or app, but you can keep your PDF accessible with the Kindle app.
